Located in the charming and historic city of Canterbury, Kent, Lark View Care Home provides a variety of specialist care services for older people, including Residential Care and Nursing Care, as well as Specialist Dementia Care for up to 64 residents since its opening in early 2023. Canterbury is situated in the Southeast of England and is ideally located for residents and their loved ones to make the most of what this beautiful part of the country has to offer.

We believe that all of our residents should be able to live a rich and fulfilled life at our purpose built home, and in addition to our comprehensive facilities and social interaction opportunities, our Activities Team ensures that every day is filled with diversity and choice, including an active and abundant social life. An ever-changing program is offered and includes accessible activities such as arts and crafts, games, entertainment, and trips to local attractions. We want our residents to continue with their favourite pastimes as well as explore new interests; from sing-alongs to quizzes and pet therapy, each activity organised by our passionate team is carefully thought out to motivate and engage everyone.

Famous for Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, the university city boasts some of England’s finest medieval architecture, including one of its oldest cathedrals. The beautiful, historic city is less than an hour from London by train, 11 minutes from Lark View Care Home by car, and just 10 minutes from some of Kent’s beautiful beaches. It is the perfect city break for anyone in the mood for wonderful medieval streets, delicious food and drink, and a truly cultural experience.

There are endless historical landmarks and cultural adventures awaiting visitors; from the incredible Canterbury Cathedral, which houses the famous shrine of medieval archbishop Thomas Beckett to St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church and make up a a UNESCO heritage site. Those wanting to soak up as much history as possible should also head to the award-winning Canterbury Tales attraction, where the sights, sounds and smells of Chaucer’s medieval England are recreated. The Canterbury Tales visitor attraction is the only attraction in the UK dedicated to this famous piece of English literature and is an essential addition to any Canterbury itinerary.

Families can spend a day or two exploring Howletts Wild Animal Park. Set in 90 acres of beautiful parkland, the kids will love a trip to this animal park which is home to exotic and endangered species including gorillas, lions, tigers and elephants. Family days don’t end there, with Whitstable just ten minutes from Canterbury, you can find bohemian seaside town, famous for its oysters and shingle beaches. A flagship Fenwicks store is the heart of the centre and with the town’s busy bus stop just behind it, it makes nipping into the shops a lot easier. With a bus stop on Strangers Lane, just a 3 minute walk from Lark View Care Home, residents can reach the city centre in under 20 minutes.
