Mother’s Day Celebrations and Animal Encounters!

zoo event at Lark View

Lark View Care Home in Canterbury was filled with smiles, music, and heartfelt moments as residents and their families came together to celebrate Mother’s Day in style. The day was carefully planned to ensure everyone could enjoy quality time, good food, and uplifting entertainment, making it a truly special occasion for all involved.

The morning began with a lively performance from talented singer Abbie, whose live music set the perfect tone for the day. Families were invited to visit in the morning to spend time with their loved ones while enjoying the entertainment, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere throughout the home. Residents sang along and shared laughter with their families - a lovely way to start the celebrations.

Later in the afternoon, Lark View Care Home hosted a beautifully arranged Mother’s Day afternoon tea. The dining area was thoughtfully decorated with seasonal touches to make the occasion feel extra special. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy each other’s company, share memories, and celebrate the important women in their lives.

The event highlighted the importance of involving families in meaningful occasions at the home. At Lark View Care Home, the team believes in creating moments that bring people together and promote emotional wellbeing. Mother’s Day is a cherished date for many of the residents, and the opportunity to spend it surrounded by loved ones was greatly appreciated.

In addition to the Mother’s Day celebrations, residents have recently been treated to an exciting visit from ZooLab. The interactive animal experience saw residents getting up close and personal with a variety of fascinating creatures - including snakes and creepy crawlies! Many showed remarkable bravery, and the activity proved to be both educational and entertaining for all.

The home is also delighted to welcome our new activities coordinator, Bea. Already a hit with the residents, Bea has been entertaining everyone with her guitar-playing skills and has quickly become a valued member of the Lark View family.
