Our 1st Christmas
As 2023 comes to a close, Lark View Care Home has been embracing all sorts of festivities as we celebrate our 1st Christmas at the care home. With many activities going on throughout December, there is plenty to get residents in the festive spirit!
Christmas Card Competition
Being our 1st Christmas, we wanted to involve the community within the local community in designing a Christmas card. With a lot of our younger community getting involved, this was a great activity for those aged 11 years and under, who were tasked with designing our Christmas card with the theme for your design to be 'What Christmas means to me'.
The winner of our Christmas Card competition was selected by our residents and team. We're delighted to share the winner Ethan (aged 8), for his fantastically festive design, which you can view below. Winning a selection of festive goodies. Congratulations Ethan!
Christmas Church Service
Following the launch of our in-home church services, we hosted a Christmas church service, which was a great event, especially for residents, who have clearly expressed their spiritual needs. This ensured that residents were able to continue with their Christmas religious practices throughout the festive season.
The curate from St Nicolas church in Canterbury came to the home with members of the congregation and performed a service for residents. This was specifically requested by residents as they enjoy this element of Christmas.
Carol Service
Lark View Care Home also hosted a carol service, where familiar favourites were sung loud for all to hear! This was a lovely moment for our residents to reminisce during the festive season.
Our 1st Christmas Tree
And of course, it wouldn't be Christmas without a tree and not just any tree, our 1st Christmas tree. Residents have loved helping put up the decorations and have also done a variety of arts & crafts activities to create some of their own for around the home.
As the Christmas season continues, Lark View Care Home looks forward to hosting more exciting activities and events and spreading the spirit of celebration, throughout our Care Home and the local community.
The team at Lark View wishes you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
