Nursing Care FAQs

The level of support provided by care homes and nursing homes can vary based on the unique needs of their residents. At Lark View Care Home, we provide a range of nursing services, including medication management, wound care, assistance with daily activities, and support for individuals with health conditions such as physical and learning disabilities, as well as Parkinson’s Disease. Our nursing team collaborates with other healthcare professionals as needed to ensure that each resident receives tailored care that is just right for them.

If you observe the following, it may be worth considering a care home for yourself or a family member:

  • Noticeable weight loss or alterations in eating habits.
  • Heightened confusion or memory lapses.
  • Challenges in performing daily activities like bathing, dressing, or grooming.
  • Recent hospital visits resulting from falls or accidents.
  • Deterioration in chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease or dementia.
  • Difficulty in managing medications or adhering to treatment regimens.
  • A requirement for specialised medical care or equipment, such as oxygen therapy or wound care.

Both care homes and nursing homes possess the capability to assess care requirements and provide recommendations for the most suitable care. When making the decision to transition to a care home, engaging in open discussions with your loved one regarding their care needs is essential.

Lark View Care Home places immense importance on its responsibility and duty of care. Our dedication to individuals’ safety is evident through our efforts, including maintaining optimal staffing levels, employing well-trained and qualified nursing staff, adhering to infection control and medication management protocols, and conducting frequent safety assessments. To further ensure resident security, we have security measures to prevent unauthorised access.

At Lark View Care Home, we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
